We at BChomeless.com are so impressed with FEED THE PEOPLE which is
group of good citzens who help 100’s of homeless and low-income folks in Vancouver.
Ariel Swan is the founder of Feed The People which started 2012 after having a rough year. The dancer had a birthday coming up and didn’t want her friends to spend money on her she so she asked them to donate their money to help the people of the downtown eastside. The idea of giving back resonated with all Ariel’s friends and soon most people were starting to donate their birthdays. To date FTP has donated over 20,000 meals and distributed over $100,000 worth of brand new clothes to the less fortunate
Each month Feed The People brings people together in Vancouver to make 1000 sandwiches or Burritos and given out to those in need and local charities such as The Food Bank, Union Gospel Mission, and Covenant House. Feed the People hopes to inspire people into action. It could be making sandwiches for the homeless, donating food to the local food bank, or even as easy as cleaning out their closets to help the less fortunate keep warm this winter. It hopes to encourage people to make the world a better place from where they are with what they have, and have fun doing it!
