Please join BChomeless.com and 100’s of homeless who have to starve for over a half a day because of the Gathering Place. What is worse is many times they run out of food for supper, which means the hungry and homeless may not eat for over 20 hours. (This happened Thanksgiving day)
Thank goodness that Rennie Keates who was the director of the Gathering Place is no longer there. In the past we did ask her to stop making the homeless starve for over a half day on a daily basis.
Plus contact the West End MLA Sam Sullivan. His email is sam.sullivan.mla@leg.bc.ca. And ask him why he was silent on this issue.
The Gathering Place first meal is their “Breakfast” which is not at 7 am or 8 am or 9 am but 10 am which is ridiculous and inhuman. The Gathering Places last meal is from 4 pm to 5 pm.
So the Gathering Place expect the homeless to last 15 hours on one meal, which is cruel and inhuman. Can Rennie Keates last 15 hours on one meal?
If Rennie Keates is reasonable and is does not just come to work to get her paycheck then she should look at what Carnegie Center does which is to offer breakfast at 9 am.
Plus Carnegie Center has supper until 8 pm. We ask you which is more human?
Again we asked Rennie Keates to start breakfast at either 8 am or at the latest 9 am and stop causing the homeless to starve for 15 hours daily.

There are 100’s of resumes that can replace Ms. Keates who are more qualified and are more human. They for sure will treat the hungry with dignity and respect.
